5. Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) announced his Alzheimer’s diagnosis six years after he left the presidency. Reagan stated that he was “one of the millions of Americans who have Alzheimer’s disease.” Reagan wanted to let Americans be aware of Alzheimer’s and what it can do to you. He publicly spoke about his diagnosis during World Alzheimer's Awareness Month in September, and his announcement brought the need for awareness of the disease to the forefront.
