Film Producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who is also involved in Lupus L.A., was at the event alongside Utley. As a lupus patient herself, Donner shared her own difficulties with the audience and in a few interviews to raise awareness.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Donner said she had had lupus before she was diagnosed in her early 30s. The difficult experience, she said, pushed her to help others like her.
Taking from her own experience, Donner is determined to help other people who are also battling the disease.
