How Addictive Is Sugar, Really?

Is sugar really comparable to heroin?

Hisham Ziaddun is an eating behavioral scientist, and he took the time to explain why these results cannot be considered to be final. He says "in neuroimaging, there is no clear-cut sign of addiction." What this means is that even though the brain may react in certain similar ways, there is no way to tell if it is addiction. Because scientists have not been able to pinpoint how addiction appears in the brain as of yet, we cannot say that sugar is a dangerous addiction - especially not as addictive as heroin.
