Six years of friendship

Ian and Mason’s friendship did not end at the lunch table either; it went right on past fast food such as Taco Bell, through video games and other things friends do, and even extended into sports, an activity not always typical of someone on the spectrum.

Kristine Kalnins said, “Mason never would have joined a team without Ian's influence.” But Mason joined the cross-country team in high school so he could play sports along with his friend, who was a long-time baseball player. Ian and Mason did not play the same sports, but still found a camaraderie in the physical activities.
