The study followed 270 cognitively-healthy citizens aged 62 to 90 years of age who, for 5 years, were regularly subjected to positron emission tomography (PET) scans, as well as an annual assessment for depression symptoms. Specifically, the latter examined 3 specific types of symptoms of depressive patients, such as apathy-anhedonia, dysphoria, and anxiety.
