What is uric acid?

When your liver breaks down purines, uric acid is produced. This is a waste product which is excreted from the blood through your kidneys.

Hyperuricemia

High levels of uric acid in your blood, a condition called Hyperuricemia results if your:

• Liver produces too much of uric acid or
• Kidney is unable to get rid of the uric acid from your body.
