Why Skeptics Question Fibromyalgia as a Real Disease

A fibromyalgia patient's immune system is not overactive. But, it is compromised

While scientists in the past had speculated fibro might be an autoimmune disease that hosts an overactive immune response, such as lupus and cancer, the university’s research theorized that a patient with fibro has low levels of this type of cytokine and showed a reduced effect on the immune system response. Research seems to suggest that the immune system of a fibro patient isn’t overactive at all, but actually seems more compromised than normal.
