Abby Lee Miller Completes 6th Round of Chemo

A major health scare

In March 2018, the 51-year-old went to the emergency room after experiencing excruciating neck pain and weakness in her left arm. After her condition worsened over the next few days, she had to undergo an emergency surgery for what was initially thought to be a spinal infection. The surgery required doctors to remove the back of quite a few vertebrae so that they could access Miller’s spinal cord and relieve some of the pressure on her nerves. “If we didn’t do something, she was going to die. Her blood pressure was bottoming out. She was not doing well” said Dr. Hooman M. Melamed, an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital.
