Creative Approaches to Cystic Fibrosis Treatment

The fear of missing out

The importance of this type of emotional care was recently blogged about by cystic fibrosis patient Hannah Buck. She noted how, in her own experience as an adolescent and student, it’s often difficult to cope with being alone when you know that your friends are participating in some kind of fun or stimulating activity. Hannah recounted how she’d had to miss several key events in her life due to infections for which she had to seek treatment. She notes that rather than focusing on what you’re missing, it’s important to learn to cope with your circumstances. While coping can still be a challenge, and while VR certainly can’t erase all of a patient’s problems, it’s a step in the right direction.
