How MS relates to anxiety

Multiple sclerosis can also lead to increased feelings of anxiety. There is a lot of unpredictability when MS is involved, especially in newer patients. Patient's wonder if the disease will get worse, if it will affect their relationships, and if it will prevent them from leading a normal life. These anxious thoughts tend to consume patients which overwhelms them and prevents them from focusing on other aspects of their life. Unfortunately, this anxiety can consume them so much that they stop doing the things they loved, stop talking to loved ones, to the point that all they do is worry, worry, worry. This type of anxiety can be a vicious self-fulfilling prophecy, as it can end up straining relationships and one's mental health in general.
