Psychiatrist Questions Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Are there any medications for OCD?

I have OCD and have been going to therapy for years to try to manage it. Are there any medications that may also help?

Combining treatment with both a psychiatrist and dermatologist. Cognitive-based therapies are most affective. Habit reversal training, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure therapy and biofeedback have proved to be useful. Medications have proven to be minimally effective. Most evidence is for Clomipramine and less for SSRI’s. Also, antipsychotics, Naltrexone, and N-Acetylcysteine have been used.
