Blood in stool

I was in the hospital two weeks ago for esophagitis and stomach ulcers. Ive been taking pantaprozal twice daily since ive been out of the hosptial. But for about three days now ive been noticing quite a bit of bright red blood in my stool. Should this be cause for concern?

I think in this case your esophagitis and stomach ulcers are unrelated. Based on your age, the most common cause of rectal bleeding is anal fissures and internal hemorrhoids. If you have associated diarrhea, then inflammatory bowel disease is also a possibility.
