The scales I am familiar with are safe to use.
The measurements may be a bit skewed due to the metal in your knee replacements (since part of the impedance, which is sort of like electronic 'resistance' is different with metal vs the other tissues in your body.) So it depends on the frequencies and quality of the scale to determine the accuracy.
However, these are safe, your knee replacements won't cause you to get 'shocked.
