I am not sure. However, some manipulation of mild bunion deformity may provide some relief at the 1st metatarsal phalangeal joint , and wearing orthotics to prevent worsening of the foot condition,. The orthotics may help to control and/or decrease the abnormal or over pronation motion (the rolling inward direction of the heel after initial heel contacts the supporting surface) at the subtalar and mid-tarsal joints on closed kinetic ambulation. These two joint a important in how the foot function properly during the gait cycle while walking.

Bunions are a structural deformity that take years to develop. The only way to correct a bunion is surgery. A chiropractor would not be able to help in that instance. If it only hurts in shoes, you may want to try wider shoes.

That depends on what you mean by 'work' on bunions. Can a chiropractor fix or reposition a bunion? NO. Can a chiropractor manipulate a bunion and try to put the joint through a range of motion? YES. Will a chiropractor be able to fix a bunion? NO
Bunions develop due to altered bio mechanics. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for diagnosis and treatment options
