Groin strain

I was treated 4 weeks ago for a groin strain. Put on steroids for 5 days and given a shot in the joint. I continue to have pain in my groin, leg, knee and hip on my left side. Sometimes the pain is intense enough to make me cry. It gets unbearable sometimes to try to sit down, get in my car or to squat or bend over. I work 10 hour shifts on my feet and legs constantly moving. Is this causing a problem with me healing?

Hi! You should obtain X-rays of your lumbar spine and hip. If X-rays are normal then the gold standard would be an MRI to assess for hip pathology such as osteonecrosis vs stress fracture vs other. Don’t forget to have a well-woman check with your OB/GYN to assess for hernia and ovarian etc issues.
Pain may be coming from the Spine or the hip. Needs X-rays of Lumbar spine and of Pelvis and L hip to start with and later MRI of either.
You use words Such as left, groin, Hip joint, severe, and strain. If this was a strain then you Must have had an injury On a date that you could easily remember. A strain would need no injection. So if you didn't have an injury, you did not have a strain. Groin pain to many orthopedic surgeons means hip pain. The first thing to consider is osteoarthritis ,easily confirmed by radiographs or x-rays. If this is radiating pain It would be more in the posterior area. Of your buttocks ,thigh and into your calf muscle signalling neurogenic pain that would require Imaging studies of your lumbar spine And electrical studies to see if this Is a lumbo- sacral Disc problem giving you sciatica. Once the proper examination and imaging studies are in. You can receive the most appropriate treatment. Arthritis in the hip is Diagnosed by a Faber test And a pinched nerve or sciatica. Is tested clinically by a positive straight leg raising test.Discuss this with your doctor. All the best.
With blood thinner may have some deep bleeding.Check with your doctor.Consider an MRI
