It depends on your age. In people in their 20s and 30s, the chance that the shoulder will dislocate again is very high. Therefore surgery is performed to stop the ball from coming out of the socket. Usually, the surgery is arthroscopic and outpatient and has a high success rate. Make sure your surgeon is skilled in the procedure. In people 50 and above, the shoulder usually will not come out again, and therefore nonsurgical treatment is used. Hope it helps!
First of all, if it’s an acute injury you need to see your doctor right away or go to the nearest ER. The treatment of chronic dislocation or subluxation or recurrent dislocation depends on multiple factors. You will need to see your Orthopedic doctor for evaluation and treatment.

An anterior shoulder dislocation is an emergency and should be treated with a manipulation and reduction. This is often performed by a trainer or physician in a sports arena or the emergency room. In rare occasions it will require sedation and a trip to the operating room to place back in position.
Have your shouldered been put back in? if it has, I would suggest two weeks in a sling followed by rehab. Occasionally people need surgery.  If your shoulder is still dislocated I would suggest going to the ER and getting it put back in.
