How long does it take to walk again after ankle surgery?

I had ankle surgery 5 days ago. I want to know how long does it take to walk again after ankle surgery?

this very subjective, depends on type and severity
I recommend that you speak with your surgeon on this concern.
That depends on what type of surgery was done. I'm sure your surgeon can answer that better than anyone else as he knows exactly what was done and what he found during the surgery.
Ankle surgery that requires fixation of some kind will require a minimum of 6 weeks of non-weight bearing and an X-ray before being able to partially bear weight on the repaired ankle.
It takes about 4-6 weeks to be able to start to put weight on the foot. Physical therapy will be for another 4-6 weeks almost (first partial weight bearing in a walking boot, then full weight bearing in the boot, then transfer to regular shoes). If everything goes well, you should be able to walk again normally in about 12 week after the surgery. Those periods of time vary depending on the course of healing.
Your doctor should be able to tell you since surgery is an art and he will have an idea usually 6 months
Depends the kind of surgery, ankle scope immediately in a boot after. Ankle fracture repair 4-6 weeks no weight. Ankle fusion or replacement 8 weeks no weight. Ligament repair 3-4 weeks no weight.

It varies depending on the procedure that was performed. Typically for most ankle surgeries it is recommended to be non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. I recommend following up with the physician who performed the procedure for their protocol.
Hello,

This depends on the type of ankle surgery that was performed and varies by the patient. It can range from 4-12 weeks in most cases.

Walking after ankle surgery depends on the nature and scope of the procedure. Post op disability is dependent on the procedure, i.e. ankle implant vs ligament repair vs fracture repair, etc all can require different healing/disability times.

There are many types of ankle surgery, so it depends on the type of surgery. For instance, an arthroscopic procedure may only require a few weeks to recover. A more extensive surgery may take months to recover and may need a period of physical therapy.
It all depends on what type of ankle surgery. There are hundreds of surgical procedures that can be done on the ankle joint area. Your surgeon should advise you as to when you can safely and appropriately walk on the operated ankle.
Really does depend on specifically what surgery. Is it an ankle fusion? Or an ankle scope? The soonest to the longest ranges from 6 weeks to 3 months.
This depends on the injury. I would speak to your surgeon. Most times you can be out of a boot and walking around 10-12 weeks post-op
It is completely dependent on what type of surgery you had. If you look through some of the other questions that I have answered, I go into different types of ankle surgeries and the time usually required to heal each type.
Walking after surgery will depend on what procedure was performed. I recommend you discus with your surgeon for your particular case
