I have ankle bursitis. How long is the treatment for ankle bursitis?

It depends on the severity of the bursitis.  There are several different treatment options. Each person responds to treatment differently.Jonathan M. Kletz, DPM, FACFASDallas, Athens and Gun Barrel City.214-340-8885

Hi! That’s is difficult to answer and everyone is different, it is important to talk to your provider about your options and follow instructions for the best possible outcome.
The answer is it depends on the reason for the bursitis, extend of bursitis, and history of flare ups. THe worst it is the longer the treatment. the more flare ups in the past, the more treatment is needed. etc...please address this with your doctor.
Hello, Thank you for your question. We you have to evaluate you and take foot x-rays if needed. Please call our office 973-817-9577 or on our portal drtotten.com for an appointment.
Thank you
Sometimes a simple cortisone injection, immobilization, physical therapy with ultrasound and electrical stimulation, or steroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications can help with bursitis. Occasionally surgery may be required.
Time frame will vary based on severity and cause. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist (Podiatrist) for evaluation and treatment options.
