Podiatrist Questions Podiatrist

I need help with my feet?

My feet burn and itch really badly. My doctor told me it’s just an allergic reaction but I don’t know what I could be allergic to. I don’t have a history of being allergic to things. This has been going on for a week and I can’t take it anymore please tell me what I can do to stop this issue.

Hello, Thank you for your question. We you have to evaluate you and take foot x-rays if needed. Please call our office 973-817-9577 or on our portal drtotten.com for an appointment.
Thank you
Try an anti-fungal cream to the affected area.
Hi, from the pattern of redness, looks like either socks or shoe that goes across your foot. I recommend that you see a podiatrist, seek second opinion if needed. after it subsides, allergist can do allergy test to find out what caused all of this, good luck, hope you find what you need.
You could have athletes foot
I cannot tell anything from this photo. See a podiatrist for treatment
You will have to be re-examined by a doctor if the problem continues.

It's tough to tell from your photo, but I would start treatment with a prescription strength steroid cream for on those areas twice a day, and maybe include oral steroid treatment as well.
Rashes are not ready to diagnose. Get a second opinion.
Looking at the picture, the red area seems to be forming a pattern across the top of your 3 bigger toes. Because of that pattern formation, I would rule out Athlete's foot. It appears that a strap from a sandal or shoe would go across those red areas. There are documented allergies to the dyes in shoes. From what I can see in the picture, that would be my diagnosis.
If it is an allergic reaction, Benadryl and topical cortisone should help with the issue. Alternatively, there could be something wrong with your nervous system. I would recommend making an appointment with a Podiatrist to have a better evaluation by a specialist about what has been happening.
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options
If you have symptoms that include peeling and scaling of the skin or discolored nails, you can consider a skin and nail biopsy to rule out fungus or a punch biopsy of the area to go full thickness of the skin to identify what the disease process is. If it is fungus, topical or oral anti fungal treatments may be necessary depending on other medical conditions. If it is an allergy or a disease process where the body is triggering the immune system to attack yourself, oral or topical steroids may be necessary depending on other medical conditions. If it is an allergy to something in you environment like a chemical in material in your shoes socks or bedding soap or something else you can see a dermatologist who performs contact dermatitis, testing of common allergens that they put on your body and track which one is causing your skin changes and discomfort. Then you will know which one or what to avoid contact with or ingestion of.

Hello

It is most likely a mild eczema with fungal infection. Mix lamasil cream with hydrocortisone cream and apply once daily at night for 10 days. It will work. If not, go to a dermatologist and get a skin biopsy.

Burning and itching is frequently caused in an acute setting by an allergic reaction (i.e., new detergent, etc.) or fungal infection. Oral Benadryl will typically help. If an allergic reaction, topical steroids cream may help, and if a fungal infection, a topical antifungal cream. I would suggest making a follow-up appointment with a foot and ankle specialist if symptoms do not get better or worsen.
It's possible a small skin shave or biopsy needs to be done, could be infection. A topical antifungal may be a good place to start.
In order to treat appropriately one needs a diagnosis. If there is a rash, a biopsy may be indicated. Many times topical steroids and if severe oral steroids are necessary. All dependent on diagnosis
