Importance of Creatinine Blood Test for a Bodybuilder

My doctor is concerned about my creatinine levels increasing after my recent blood work. My creatinine blood test result was 1.62. The reference range is 0.65-1.35. She referred me to a nephrologist who ordered a 24 hour urinary clearance test. The test results stated my True or Measured GFR is 110 (normal). He told me that having higher creatinine levels in the blood will cause my GFR to decrease faster. I am 28 year old guy who is 6ft tall and 226lbs. I workout 3-4 days a week. Should I be concerned about my creatinine levels if my True GFR is healthy?

This is a common issue amongst patients with large muscle mass. The muscles produce higher levels of creatinine. The short answer is your kidney filtration is fine with a GFR> 100 however you will have to monitor your gfr as your Cr will likely remain high as long as you are bodybuilding
If the 24 hr crcl is 110 ml/min, your kidneys function is normal.
However crohns disease does have renal complications
Crohn's disease has some effects on kidney functions due to malabsorption and dehydration such as AKI or calcium oxalate-uric acide stones and electrolyte abnormalities. So make sure you keep an eye on that.
