Have you seen your Dr.? If so tell me and I will answer your question
With arthritis, you want to keep the joints limber. Walking if there is no pain in doing so, is great for the joint. Be sure to wear proper shoes, and perhaps an orthotic or cushioning to meet all the needs of your foot structure, will benefit the alignment of the ankle while exercising it.
Depends a lot of other factors
Hi! You can walk with arthritis in the ankle. I would recommend seeing a podiatrist for an evaluation.
Depends on what other treatment you already implemented, if walking is your only answer, then may not be good.
Hello, Thank you for your question. We you have to evaluate you and take foot x-rays if needed. Please call our office 973-817-9577 or on our portal drtotten.com for an appointment.
Thank you
It depends on how severe the arthritis is. But arthritis is a problem that progressively worsens over time. The more you use the joint, the more damage will occur over time
Walking may exacerbate ankle pain in an arthritic ankle, therefore it’s important to utilize anti-inflammatory and support braces for pain relief and comfort. Limit walking to an “as tolerated” basis to avoid further irritation, atrophying of muscles, and loss of mobility of the joint.
Walking can help with arthritis. I recommend you schedule an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for diagnosis and treatment options.
