“Missed period”
I had sex in October and took plan b on the 16th got my period after that. Then I got bronchitis and was on presidone the steroid and my period for the month is a week late. I now have pneumonia and just finished taking antibiotics and took a test today and am negative? Is this normal what does it mean?

If you've had unprotected sex in the last 10 days, you could have gotten pregnant. If you aren't wanting to be pregnant now, I suggest you start birth control. There are many effective, safe, well-tolerated methods. You could also use Plan B again. If you took Plan B this month, that could explain the delay in getting your period. Also the stress of your illness may explain it.
Hi,
The answer depends on whether you have had sex again since you took the plan B and had your period. If you had your period after taking Plan B, it is most likely that you were not pregnant at that time. If, in the interim, you have had sex again, and now your period is late, that could mean that you are pregnant now or it could be just that your period is a bit late given that you’ve been having some stress on your body with the pneumonia etc. Assuming that the test you took was a pregnancy test and was negative, that’s a good indication that you’re just late because your body got a little out of cycle. That happens frequently and doesn’t mean anything bad if it happens every once in a while, particularly if you’ve been sick or stressed. But the negative test could also mean that you tested too early. If your period doesn’t start in the next week or so, I would repeat the pregnancy test. If it is still negative and you still aren’t having your period, then you should see your gynecologist for further evaluation.
Hope this is helpful.
