Mucous in stool

60 year old. Normal colonoscopy 6 1/2 years ago. Normal routine digital rectal exam 2 months ago& neg hemoccult. . Normal abd/pelvic CT 4 months ago. I had a hard stool this morning
& used my finger to help get it out. I defecated again in the evening and saw small amount of brown mucous with tiny amount of pink mixed. Have had sone anal burning intermittently for a month. Could it be cancer & do I need to go see a doctor? I'm so worried?

Unlikely to be cancer. Bleeding is usually from an anal fissure or internal hemorrhoids. Its not wrong to see the doctor though to reassure yourself.
