Neurologist Questions Autism

My son is autistic and reacts violently to certain triggers. How can I help him?

My son is now 3 years old and is suffering from autism. I say the world suffer, because there are certain triggers which invoke very violent reactions in him and it becomes hard for us to calm him down. The smell of leather shoes, paint and certain colors like red are certain triggers which have caused violent reactions in him. How can we help him out?

I would suggest seeing a therapist that might help you guys with his condition.
1st: Avoid the triggers all together, 2nd: A child behavioral psychologist should be able to help with different techniques to taper his reaction down. I've seen many successes myself in this regards. Meds would be the last resort.
