Pathologist Questions

No injury recurring blister

To start I am very apprehensive and a bit traumatized as I have been dealing with this issue for a few years now. I have went to countless hospitals seen specialists and to no avail has anyone been able to diagnose this issue. My symptoms are as follows for my pointer finger on my left hand.. it starts with a blister the blister then fills with blood on its own it dries out then I lose the top layer and what is left underneath is thick blood and under that lies what looks to be dried onion please bear with me I know this sounds strange because it is strange to me as well then in layers the Skins to dry and come up and what I've noticed are clear straw like pathogens. It looks to me like possibly a parasite that is centimeter long by an eighth of an inch wide at best flat with little elongated pieces on the end kind of like a hook nose if you will. I also deal with extreme pain in the joint closest to the wound it feels as if I've been hit by a sledgehammer with throbbing that goes along with my heartbeat I also deal with swelling on a level that threatens to split my skin and a slight temperature at this point. And then I might go through a week or two with no new lesions. Without notice or any symptoms to indicate the onset of a new lesion one appears in a different spot of my pointer finger. It never moves to any other fingers. It might help to know that last year I experienced an injury to my wrist and side of my hand that left me unable to work my fingers for sometime. I was supposed to get surgery on my wrist as I now have permanent damage to some nerves. One being the ability to move my pointer finger with full range of motion. My middle finger is effected along with my wrist. When I move my middle and ring finger you can clearly see where something needs reattached in my wrist as it's visible two lumps that move back and forth. So we can close out that issue as I have included all the knowledge I have. Next I have recently discovered through a Catscan with contrast there are multiple lesions on and in my uterus. I was preparing to have a few hernias repaired and jumping through the necessary hoops to give my surgeon a clear idea of his game plan when I was slapped with a phonecall saying my surgery will not be happening as he feels it is dire I see my gynecologist about said findings. Next I would like you to know that I have been experiencing insane head itching every once in a while that ends with clumps of my hair falling out that n9w has me with 60% hair loss and visual bald spots. Mind you there is no balding in my family and I was blessed with very thick hair. I did notice when retrieving hair out of the drain what looked to be tiny clumps of lint attached which was in my hairbrush as well. Please I realize this sounds odd. Please be mindful this has had a devastating effect on every aspect of my life. I am getting tired and losing faith. Please help me.

You have a lot of things going on which are disturbing and certainly uncomfortable. Honestly, I do not know what is going on with any of the issues you mention. Do you have a primary care physician who can run some laboratory tests and possibly refer you to certain specialists? For example, the finger and hair loss issue could be a skin condition. These are usually handled by skin specialists (dermatologists) and they may have to do a tissue biopsy (biopsies) to really figure out what is going on. It is possible that you do have some sort of parasitic infection (e.g. ringworm can lead to hair loss and skin itching). I know you have seen several doctors, but my advice is to go to a primary care doctor (e.g. family medicine or general internal medicine doctor), have them thoroughly examine you, and as appropriate refer you to specific specialists who are knowledgeable about different skin and joint conditions. As for your uterus, have you seen a gynecologist? These are the specialists who can generally diagnose uterine conditions and recommend appropriate treatment. Going to an urgent care facility or emergency room is NOT recommended, unless you have a certain emergency (e.g. chest pain, stroke symptoms or acute injury). These latter facilities often don't take the time to run the tests to figure out what you might have; they generally deal with emergencies. I wish I could be of more help, but you need a complete medical examination. Dave Gordon M.D.
