Chiropractor Questions Back Pain

Pain and large round knots mid-back

I have been having intense pain pretty much from shoulder blade (top) down to mid back. Whole area top to bottom is a tight strip and swells tremendously. Also have huge round knots that seem to be pressure point and can hardly touch for pain. Entire upper back will swell like 4 times its normal size. What could this be? I have a history of Pulmonary Fibrosis, Hypertension, GERD.

It could be muscle spasm or trigger points, but I would need a closer look. The conditions you listed shouldn't give you the symptoms you describe, but it's possible there could be some relation to your meds. You should follow up with the prescribing doctor to review just in case.
These symptoms should be discussed with your Medical Doctor immediately.
This sounds like a cervical - Vagus nerve problem. Consult an upper cervical specific chiropractor.
It seems that you are building excessive amount of inflammation in the area. This may be due to the hypertension and complications of the pulmonary fibrosis. Theses include but not limited to autoimmune conditions. You may want to try some cryotherapy on the area to alleviate the discomfort. It would be pertinent to seek a consultation with a rheumatologist to rule out some additional factors that may be contributing to it.
The condition you are describing could be related to the pulmonary fibrosis. The tissues and structures of your upper back are inflamed and swollen which indicates a buildup of fluid. I would recommend getting an MRI or CT scan of your entire upper back to see what's going on. It would appear from what you are telling me that it may be beyond the scope of what chiropractic can do for you at this point.

Well to answer your question we would have to do a examination and if needed will follow-up with x-rays or an MRI to look at soft tissue damage.
Hello,

I would advise an ER visit if your condition worsens. Otherwise, you may want to explore a functional medicine chiropractor who can perform numerous tests, i.e., micronutrient, parasite, fungal, food sensitivity, etc. I apologize for my overall vagueness and hope this helps.
