Vascular Surgeon Questions

Peripheral artery disease - angioplasty

My mum had angioplasty op on both legs on Wednesday. It was successful. Today her left ankle and foot are swollen and you can't see her ankle bone. The colour of the foot is good and pink and she doesn't have any pain or tingling or any other symptoms. Should we be concerned?

Sometimes when new flow is restored the leg can swell a little bit with the new blood flow. But the best thing to do is have your doctor assess the leg and make sure everything is in order.
No. That is normal post angioplasty and a good sign.
You can sometimes get some swelling. You should be seen by a vascular surgeon or the person who did the procedure to make sure everything is OK.
