At the Grand round , the Professors and the Residents agree upon the following : 1) Visit a local Clinic for a good gynecology exam( many Free Clinics are listed) 2) Urine and Blood Pregnancy tests to make sure you are not pregnant. If you are pregnant you should stop taking birth control pills. 3) Your Gynecologist may recommend additional Hormonal Therapy for a short period ( like 5 days of provera) Or The gynecologist may stop your birth control pills . Thank you very much Sincerely Yours Bich Le, M.D.
Any number of things can cause this when on birth control pills, like if you skipped a pill, changed diet, exercise, if you travelled across time zones, and sometimes this does happen and the pill needs to be changed to a different brand. Give it a couple more weeks then consult with the prescriber.
