The origin of your foot pain may be from one or several different areas. An old injury, a spine, hip and/or knee misalignment can also affect your gait and cause foot pain. If you’ve recently changed shoes/running shoes, or if you need to can all be related to foot pain. It really helps to know what is bringing on the pain ie walking, or is it constant. Also, the type of pain, for example is it nerve pain (sharp, stabbing, burning), or aching. Initially, using ice, wrapped, never directly on the skin, for 20 minutes every hour along with elevating the foot may provide some relief. If you have not already, perhaps consider a visit with a podiatrist as well.
Where is the pain? How long have you had it? Bottom , top or side of foot? Burning, aching stabbing....? Injury, diabetes. These are questions that must be asked. If a recent problem. Shoe orthotics and chiropractic care would offer relief depending on the above findings
Stretching the bottom and top of the foot along with full flexion and extension of the toes can help to loosen the joints, muscles and fascia. Wearing orthotics in the shoes can also be beneficial. The best thing to do is consult a physician (Chiropractor or Podiatrist) to get an accurate diagnosis and a good treatment plan. Hope this helps. Take care and be well. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for diagnosis, evaluation and treatment options
It depends on what is causing your pain. The foot is a very complex structure, riddled with tendons, bones, nerves, muscles, ligaments and tissue. You will need to have a proper diagnosis in order to understand what is necessary to relieve your foot pain.
