There is two types of ways to get your neck adjusted. First, is the traditional Chiropractic manual (by hand) Adjustment. The Chiropractor, after a through patient history and examination with possible x-rays, will gently put a force into the neck joint that’s “stuck” freeing it up and usually this causes a “popping” sound. The second way to Adjust the neck, is using an Instrument to make the Adjustment. This is a hand held Instrument that percusses repeatedly to free up the neck joint that is stuck. In this second way via an Instrument, there is no “popping” or “cracking” sound or sensation. Some people are more comfortable with this type of Adjustment to their neck, rather than the traditional Chiropractic Adjustment that causes the characteristic popping sound. Either way, Chiropractic Adjustment to Neck is extraordinarily safe when given by a properly trained and experienced Chiropractic Physician. Both types of Adjustments work well.
It all depends how the doctor treats… it can be a few diff types of instruments used or the hands.
