Why do chiropractors crack your toes?

I am a 31 year old male. I want to know why do chiropractors crack your toes?

Hello,

It's a great question. First off as chiropractors, we focus on joints and specifically joint movement. If we find that there is a lack of movement in the toes then we adjust them. This to help increase function and help decrease pain sensation.

Have a great day,

Hello, I will never ever say the words "to tell you the truth ". However, if a patient has a foot condition such as metatarsalgia, a chiropractor who is trained in adjusting extremities, would adjust joint dysfunction of the bone or bone's proximal above your toe or toe's to improve joint function. As for myself like many patients, some patients have asked me to adjust a "jammed toe" that is similar to a jammed finger. My football team M.D. would often adjust, a painful phalanx "finger" if it was in pain. I hope this answer clear's up your question. God Bless, Dr. Richard Feher, D.C.C.C.S.T.
Hello and thank you for the question.

Joint spaces contain gas. When a Chiropractic adjustment is performed, the joint space opens releasing the gas resulting in a sound. This is true of when air or gas pressures change resulting in a sound. Some examples are thunder and music from speakers.

Like any other joint, toes can misalign and benefit from adjusting.
Could be for 2 reasons to adjust toes and the 3 major foot joints.
1. An injured or jammed toe with fracture ruled out
2. An active patient or endurance athlete that needs their joints to stay
as mobile as possible. Endurance athletes tend to create more joint
restrictions due to impact.
Hope this helps
Great question. Interestingly enough, there are several types of joints in the body and the toes fall into the synovial joint category. The toes have a fibrous capsule around each individual joint. That capsule contains synovial fluid and cartilage at the ends of each bone. Manipulating the joint allows for maximal range of motion within its normal range and gaps the joint allowing for synovial fluid to get between the bones into the cartilaginous spaces which nourishes the joint. It also serves to reduce muscle tension. Why do chiros manipulate joints that aren’t problematic? That’s a good question that I’m afraid I can’t answer. As a sports doc, I treat what is needing to be treated. Some chiros just like to hear the popping noise. If it feels good, go for it! If not, tell them not to. I hope this helps!
Not all chiropractors manipulate your toes. If your chiropractor does, good for them! We adjust the joints of the body to increase joint space, restore proper motion and reduce pain and inflammation. Since your toes will move as they should, your balance, athletic performance and even foot aches and pain could improve! Best of health, Dr. Armour https://armourchiro.com
The answer is very simple. Anywhere you have joints articulating they can have a subluxation (misalignment). If your toes are in this situation it can affect your gait, balance, and even how your shoes fit.
Manipulating any joint allows for better function of the joint, increased coordination, and decreased pain. The toes specifically are important for walking, standing, etc., so their proper function is very important.
