Please use a note book and write them on it, until you remember it, practice makes you perfect, polish your memory power with practice.
This could be due to anxiety.
Names don't carry, meaning you should try to come up with a visual story that comes up with name. Write it down, ask how they spell it.
Age, depression, anxiety, ADD, head trauma, etc. All can affect memory, especially short-term memory. But it is not uncommon for people to have this problem. It also has to do in what kind of circumstances you meet people. In stressful situations like, for example, a job interview when your mind is on how you will be assessed, your brain does not process it to your memory. Repeating the name during introductions can help one remember, e.g., "Hi, I'm Kyle," "Hi, Kyle, I'm Kathy," instead of, "Hi, I'm Kyle," "Hi, I'm Kathy."
This can be caused by age.
You need to practice!! Best approach is to encode the name with other special characteristics of the person, e.g., hair/ hometown /speech pattern or nickname.
