Pediatrician Questions Child growth

How can I maintain my child's health?

My daughter is 5 years old, and naturally I want to make sure that she has the best of everything. Do you have some tips for me for the best ways to maintain her health?

Routine is the most important thing in our lives. That means, we have a schedule for our daily lives, including when to eat, when to sleep, when to play and when to work. Healthy diet with little junk food and sweet drinks since childhood with all varieties of food will provide proper nutrients for us. Daily exercise. Stable family dynamic and love from parents, i.e caring, provides healthy mental health for a child. Yearly check up with the pediatrician will help spotting any problem as a prevention. She is blessed to have a loving parent like you.
I’m sure that you have heard it many times. Prepared a balanced diet, freshly made meals, limit prepared foods and food additives. Limit screen use, she needs physical activity. Make sure she is up to date on all vaccines including influenza.
-Car seat/booster seat
-Smoke alarms in your home
-Proper diet/not too many sweets
-Enough rest and enough time for play
-Avoid too much screen time/encourage imagination
-Spend enough time with your child
-Have family dinner away from the TV
-Give your child some household chore or responsibility

Make sure she gets a yearly checkup. Make sure her immunizations are up-to-date. Make sure she drinks 16 oz of dairy daily. She needs 5-6 servings fruits and vegetables a day. she needs 1 hour of physical activity per day. Limit screen time. Make sure she is getting around 10-12 hours of sleep per day. Set limits. Give verbal rewards on a job well done. Make sure she knows you are available and love her. She needs dental checkups and cleanings every 6 months. She needs to ride in booster seat in back when riding. Make learning fun. These are just a few things to do.
