No anatomical deformities of joints, no morning stiffness, pain, or swelling, and labs may be useful in addition to updated XRAYS.
Rheumatoid arthritis can go into remission usually on appropriate medications and your rheumatology provider can determine this by assessing your history exam and blood work. There are some scores like a RAPID 3 CDAI or DAS score that rheumatologist calculate to make sure you are in remission based on your current symptoms exam and labs.
Remission is usually based on clinical and lab testing measures. Ultimately this is something your rheumatologist can assess best.

You should any experience any symptoms from the disease with no recent flares.
Hi!

There is strict criteria for each autoimmune disease and defining remission. Your doctor should be able to walk you through these definitions and how they translate clinically.

Thanks so much!

Thank you for your question. We look at the patient global assessment througha questionnair called RAPID3 and physician global assesment through the physical exam, imaging and blood work.
If you have no pain, no morning stiffness, and on exam no tenderness/swollen joints along with normal ESR/CRP, you can be potentially considered to be in remission.
Hope that helps.
