Usually 1 month
I hope you’re talking about dislocation of patella or knee cap. It’s extremely rare to have knee joint dislocation in your native knee.
It’s normal to have some pain, swelling and discomfort 6-8 weeks. You should consider seeing an orthopedist to check and get X-rays or MRI if necessary and consider a course of physical therapy to prevent future patella dislocation
A dislocated knee is a limb threatening emergency which usually involves disruption of 3 or more ligaments requiring multiple surgeries. Full recovery takes a minimum of 12 months, although your orthopedic surgeon will guide you as you recover. This is a very severe injury.

Good luck,

Keith
Usually ligament reconstruction is needed. Based on the number of ligaments reconstructed the rehab protocol would be different
Dislocated kneecap is 6-8 weeks.
