How long is the recovery time for hip replacement surgery?

I am a 49 year old female. I will have hip replacement surgery next month. After many years of climbing in and out of my work truck it has worn my hip.

2 weeks in my hands
Average 3-6 months
Successful press fit uncemented. THR allows for immediate walking and stair climbing. Allow 6 weeks for healing to allow soft tissue and bone healing. If your motion and soft tissue have been reduced, it might take longer, in the range of 3 months.
You can walk with a partial weight bearing for a month and walk normally in 12 weeks.
By 6 months he should be able to do nearly everything you did before the surgery. Full recovery, however, is 12 months.
As a general rule, the recovery is 4 to 6 weeks with a patient being up and walking around the entire time. Some patients even recover a little faster and some go a little slower.

Hope it helps!

There are different approaches to hip replacement surgery, overall recovery depends on multiple factors- patient’s base line functional status, surgical techniques, appropriate rehabilitation. Most of the patients are generally comfortable to do most of daily life activities by about 6-7 weeks. As you’re young, I am sure you may recover even a bit quicker, but it’s important to follow appropriate rehabilitation instructions and gradually return to daily life activities as you feel comfortable.
In general, 3 months is a reasonable estimate for patients recovering from THA.
Please confer with your orthopedist doing the surgery for the most accurate response. Thanks
