What causes dry cough in toddlers?

My toddler daughter has a dry cough. What causes dry cough in toddlers?

Thank you for your question. A dry cough may be caused by a few reasons: a virus, allergies that may be associated by a post nasal drip or runny nose. I would suggest seeking medical attention if she develops a fever, cough seems to be getting worse or if she seems short of breath.
Hope this helps.
