Pathologist Questions Type II Diabetes

What tests are used to check for diabetes?

My doctor believes that I have type 2 diabetes because of the symptoms I've been experiencing. What tests would I need to take for a diagnosis?

A blood test is used to check diabetes. Hemoglobin A1c is the test used besides measuring your blood sugar level on empty stomach. Thank you.
Nowadays we rely on fasting glucose and HbA1c levels
Your primary care doctor will decide what tests are needed and may refer you to an endocrinologist.
