Pediatrics Orthopedist Questions Gait Abnormalities

Will my son's gait abnormality be treated?

My son has an abnormal gait when he walk, and we aren't sure how it can be helped. Could something neurological have caused this? How is it usually treated?

Many gait abnormalities will resolve over time. They can be a result of neurologic problems, muscular problems, or even problems of the bone. If this is been present for many months, then it would be best to be thoroughly evaluated for both your son's sake and your peace of mind.
Good luck.
There are many issues that cannot be effectively evaluated without seeing the patient. Neurologic cause would be high on the list. He meeds to be seen and evaluates. An orthopedic surgeon is a good start. Happy Holidays!!
