Pathologist Questions Blood Tests

Would my son need more tests if blood work comes back abnormal?

My son is going to get blood work so that his doctor could understand why he's so fatigued. If his test come back abnormal, would he need to have more tests?

If your son is fatigue, a blood test is the first test that your doctor performs to know if he is anemic or has any other problem. Probably is not going to be the only test to be performed. There are ancillary tests like X-rays, CT and so on. However, the blood will tell the doctor most likely the cause of his fatigue. Another possibility is the heart so an EKG probably can be done if necessary. Fatigue has multiple etiologies (causes). Thank you.
