Radiation may not be used to its full potential

Despite the data supporting the use of more conservative measures with adjunctive radiation, many women are still opting for the more radical mastectomy. With this, radiation therapy is not being used to its full potential to help those suffering from breast cancer. Many patients who opt for mastectomies can actually still benefit from improved survival if they undergo adjunctive radiation.
