Dr. Hershman and her fellow colleagues offered 10 acupuncture sessions at the end of 6 months, regardless of the group the participants are involved in. They hope to conduct a separate analysis in order to see how many patients in each group accept the offer. The research team also plans on using tissue samples gathered from the patients throughout the trial in order to gain a greater understanding of what causes symptoms associated with AIMSS, as well as how exactly acupuncture may help to provide pain relief from breast cancer.
