  • How much d3 should I be taking if my levels are a little below 19?

With a vitamin D deficiency, you need more than 1000 ius because that's not enough. You need to take at least 5000 to 10000 ius a day and get the D3 which is the active vitamin D. Vitamin D is very important for your immune system and it has been shown to prevent COVID infections so get some more!! READ MORE

  • Lower back pain?

It could be several things. First of all, do you have any problems with urinary or fecal incontinence to see if it's a deeper issue with your back like a herniated disc? Did you have problems with your back before this? It could be shingles which is the chickenpox virus. It starts out with pain tingling in a specific area and then usually you break out in a painful rash. Shingles can happen due to a lowered immune system and from Covid. What I would do is go see your primary care Dr or an Urgent Care so they can review your symptoms, take your blood work. READ MORE

  • Perforated septum?

Well, as you probably know, chronic use of cocaine through the nose causes perforations through the septum. You CAN'T cure this with medicine. You need to see an ENT/Otolaryngology doctor who can examine your nose and do certain tests like a CT scan to see how bad the perforation is. Then they can refer you for surgery if needed. READ MORE

  • Prilosec and nitrofurantoin?

According to all the reference material, there is no known interaction between these 2 medications; however, there can always be some type of adverse interaction with any medication, so just be conscious of that. READ MORE

  • What can my friend with cancer drink?

Yes its a good idea to drink Boost or Ensure to help the person with protein intake. It will help their immune system as well. Pedialyte is good too if they have issues with dehydration. Basically, drinking healthy juices and water to keep healthy is the best. READ MORE

  • How long does it take an ear infection to go away?

It depends. It can take days, hours, or weeks depending on how bad it is. You need to see your local primary care Dr or specialist so they can examine you and see if you truly have an ear infection and need antibiotics or it's wax etc READ MORE

  • How do I know if my stomach pain is my appendix?

Well the only way you can truly know of it's your appendix is if you go to the ER and get examined by a general surgeon specialist. Sometimes they do an ultrasound or CT scan but appendicitis is a clinical diagnosis based on your symptoms and physical findings. Usually its a very severe pain that can start around your belly button and then can move to the lower right side of your abdomen. You can have nausea or vomiting as well. But you need to be examined by a doctor and they can get tests and blood work. READ MORE

  • Can celiac disease cause stomach inflammation?

Celiac disease by definition is a malabsorption problem in your intestine. Most of the time you lose weight because you don't get enough vitamins and minerals. However if you are getting treated with certain medications like steroids for the disease it can cause weight gain. READ MORE

  • My covid booster?

Since you have just recently recovered from the shingles virus, your immune system is down so I would probably wait at least 6 weeks from your shingles episode so your body can recover. READ MORE

  • I think I had a sertraline overdose?

Why are you taking that much sertraline? You shouldn't be taking more than 200 mg a day. If your physician prescribed that dose you need to get a second opinion because that is too much. If you took it one time you probably got very sleepy, dizzy, headache, but you obviously didn't overdose since you're asking this question. But you will harm your liver and possibly have a bad reaction if you keep taking this much. Please stop and consult another doctor! READ MORE

  • Ear infections?

It could be an ear infection or a sinus infection since you're having drainage. Regardless it sounds like some sort of eustachian tube dysfunction. You are draining fluid from your sinuses its going into your ears causing pain and is draining down your throat. You could try an antihistamine decongestant combination first like Claritin D, Allegra D, Zyrtec D but if that doesn't help after 48 hours you need to see your physician and possibly get some antibiotics and steroids such as prednisone to help the inflammation and sore throat. • Can I dye my hair while having covid?

I have not heard of any issues dying your hair with the COVID infection so other than you having an allergy to hair dye I assume it would be safe to dye your hair if you're feeling good and have no symptoms. READ MORE

  • Can varicocele cause abnormal sperm?

First of all a varicocele is an enlarged varicose vein in the scrotum. It can be small and not need any treatment or very enlarged and can cause pain and swelling in the scrotum. Technically it could cause abnormal sperm due to the varicose vein but not necessarily. Your best bet would be to schedule an appointment with a Urologist so that they can do an ultrasound of your scrotum and sperm analysis then they can better decide if you need surgical intervention or not. • Does CBD help with anxiety attacks?

CBD is purported to help with anxiety attacks but again it is a drug that has side effects so you really should consult with a naturopathic Dr to see if it would work for you. You can also try the natural mineral Kava Kava which helps with anxiety as well but consult with your doctor first before you start using any medications natural or not to make sure there are no adverse side effects. • When do you need a blood transfusion?

It depends on your symptoms, your health status, and your blood count numbers. If you are actively bleeding such as vomiting blood, having copious blood from your rectum or vagina AND you are symptomatic, pale, dizzy, want to faint, short of breath and your hemoglobin red blood cell count is less than 10 than usually the Dr and your emergency room medical team will transfuse blood. But again It depends on your symptoms and your overall health status. READ MORE
