Get to know Internal Medicine Physician Dr. Usman Bhutta, who serves the population of Oklahoma. Dr. Bhutta completed his Medical Degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan in 2005, giving him over a decades worth of expereince. He then relocated to the United States where he completed his internal medicine residency with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Wanting to further his training he then completed his Nephrology fellowship with the same institution. Dr. Bhutta is dual certified in internal medicine and nephrology with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He currently practices with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, he is also affiliated with Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and OU Medical Center. He holds an expertise in Nephrology. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). Nephrology also studies systemic conditions that affect the kidneys, such as diabetes and autoimmune disease; and systemic diseases that occur as a result of kidney disease, such as renal osteodystrophy and hypertension.
