Namely, he is a part of the following programs at Baptist Hospital of Miami & West Kendall Baptist Hospital: BHM Hospitalist Medicine Program (Miami), Dh Hospitalist Medicine Program (Coral Gables), and WKBH Hospitalist Medicine Program (Miami).

Baptist Health South Florida is a faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare organization and clinical care network in southern Florida. At the start of his academic career, Dr. Perez-Puelles obtained his medical degree from Havana Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in 1995. Many years later, in 2015, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Ohio.

That same year, he attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
