As it turns out, Hoffman has become an inspiration to more than fellow patients. His father, who has been described by Hoffman as quiet but stern, is deeply inspired by his son’s plight and how his son is living every day to the fullest. Hoffman has also inspired other pro athletes who have given him with messages of support after he bravely blogged about his diagnosis.
