Women with gestational diabetes may give birth to babies with increased birth weight, lower insulin sensitivity, and higher body fat. Also, pregnant women with the complication are likely to undergo a cesarean section. The blood sugar level return to normal after delivery. However, gestational diabetes can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. Blood sugar levels can be controlled by exercising and eating healthy foods.
