The Swank Diet for Multiple Sclerosis

The McDougall Program

The McDougall Program

The McDougall Program is similar to the Swank Diet in that it is a plant based low-fat diet. The main difference in this program compared with Swank Diet is that it does not recommend meat, fish, and dairy. In 2016 a study was conducted to look at the possible benefits of the McDougall Program. While participants in this program did not show a decrease in their MS flares and symptoms, they did on average have an increase in weight loss, improved cholesterol profile, improved mental health status, and increased energy levels.
