Meet Dr. Mohammed Rais

Mohammed Sayeedur Rais, MD, is an Interventional Cardiologist practicing with the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He has been practicing with CIS for over fifteen years. There, his goal is to utilize the most advanced cardiovascular treatment methods while treating his patients with compassion.

After earning his medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, where he also completed his first-year residency as the Assistant Surgeon on In-Service Training and Assistant Surgeon Trainer, Dr. Rais did his internship and residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center at the State University of New York in Brooklyn.

Today, Dr. Rais specializes in clinical hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. He is board-certified in several areas, including cardiology, internal medicine, critical care medicine, vascular medicine, endovascular medicine, and nuclear cardiology. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. To further his expertise and skill, he has completed several levels of coronary CT angiography training.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Rais has been a proud recipient of a full scholarship from the Government of Bangladesh Board of Education, Fellow of the Year at New York University in 1988, and the Top Ten Research Award for 2000 at Catholic Medical Center, among many others.

Dr. Rais and his team identify, diagnose, and treat many issues relating to the cardiovascular system, such as cardiovascular disease, carotid artery disease, valvular disease, venous disease, and more.
