Due to his becoming flustered, it would seem that he is exhibiting frustration and this is when disfluency can become stuttering. You can try giving him your full attention and slowing the rate of your own speech. If that does not help, I would suggest that you have a consultation with a speech-language pathologist to assess if that is what is happening.
